Going live in Manchester.

It’s official, we’ve opened a new office in the city of Manchester. Located at Peter House on Oxford Street inside the city centre, we’ve tuned our ears to that distinct Mancunian twang and seen the demand for flexible work in the region. Continuing our work within the city’s hospitality sector, our new office has been hard at work on-boarding skilled, flexible workers in time for the busy summer period.

Who’s behind all of this on-boarding? Introducing our newly appointed Account Manager for Manchester, James Clarke. James joins us from Atalian Servest, bringing with him a wealth of experience in finding skilled, ambitious talent from across Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds.

With a thorough understanding of the UK’s hospitality sector, James will work closely with our Business Manager for North England, Janette, in leading the Manchester office.  As a local to the region himself, James had this to say:

“I’m thrilled to help bring the GIG experience to Manchester’s lively hospitality sector. As advocates and drivers of fair and flexible work, GIG reflects exactly what the local community need and want, so it’s an exciting time to join the team and build GIG's presence throughout the city”

With our office located in the city's hub, we’re able to build on current relationships with local employers such Manchester’s Marriott V&A Hotel, Emirates' Old Trafford Cricket Ground and Radisson Blue Edwardian and ultimtaely make a physical footprint on the city.

For what is arguably UK’s multicultural epicentre, GIG’s expansion into Manchester poses a unique position for local businesses looking to match with the city’s diverse pool of ambitious workers, who are looking to work on their own terms.

So, what’s on the horizon?

With over 150 workers from across the city already registered as GIG Seekers, the feedback so far has been fantastic. With our local navigator, James is already matching skilled GIG Seekers with large-scale events and sporting institutions like the World Cup Cricket this Summer.

In preparation for the busy summer period ahead, we’ll also be providing shifts to the World Cup Cricket games in Leeds and Birmingham, with a free shuttle bus leaving Manchester each day. It’s just an example of how we’re here to support our workers and ensure our clients maintain peace of mind.

As we continue our mission to Make Gig Work, Work, we look forward to helping Manchester's hospitality sector not only thrive but also embrace the future of work through cost-effective, flexible employment strategies.
